Cougars Announce Motor City Bowl Ticket Options; Buy Three, Get One Free
PROVO, Utah -- Brigham Young University announced tickets for the December 27th Motor City Bowl in Pontiac, Mich., are now on sale at the BYU ticket office. Fans can purchase individual tickets for $32 each or take advantage of a buy three, get one free offer. Tickets for the game are available locally by calling 378-BYU1 or toll free from across the country at (800) 322-BYU1. The buy three, get one free offer is only available through the BYU ticket office.
In order to ensure the University is credited with its guaranteed allotment of ticket sales to the game, BYU officials are asking fans to contact BYU directly to purchase their tickets.
The Cougar Club, in cooperation with the BYU Alumni Association, is working on a tour package that will include roundtrip airfare, tickets to the game, hotel accommodations and travel to and from the Silverdome. Fans can contact the Cougar Club at (800) 426-4298 or (801) 378-2583 for additional information.
In an effort to support the missionary efforts of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, fans are also being encouraged to participate in a program that would send missionaries from the Michigan Detroit Mission and their investigators to the bowl game.
"People in this part of the country are very excited to have BYU playing in the Motor City Bowl," Detroit Mission President Rulon Robison said. "I'm very much in favor of this program that will allow our missionaries and their investigators to attend the game. I believe it will be a very productive experience for the missionary effort here in Detroit."
Fans wishing to participate can contact the BYU ticket office and request tickets for the missionary program. The buy three, get one free offer is also valid for the missionary program. Those tickets will be delivered to President Robison and distributed to missionaries and their investigators.
"This ticket program is a great way for people to support both the missionary effort in the Detroit area and BYU's athletic program," said BYU Athletic Director Val Hale. "Those who can't attend the bowl game can at least feel like they are doing their part to support the Cougars and the missionaries."
Several members of the athletic department, including Hale and Cougar Club Director Michael Middleton, have personally committed their efforts and financial support to the missionary ticket program.
"It's a great idea and a worthwhile cause," said Middleton. "When we discussed the idea, I knew I wanted to be involved. My family has purchased four tickets for the missionaries and I invite other Cougar Club members and BYU fans to participate."
