- Totaled 107 tackles and eight interceptions in high school
- Played some quarterback, passing for 376 yards and running for 1,169 yards and 12 touchdowns in prep career
- Helped Fremont to an 11-3 record and to Utah 5A state title game in 2011
- Also played prep basketball for the Silver Wolves and was a forward in soccer
- Also recruited by Hawai’i, Utah and Utah State

Freshman Year
2014
- Started at boundary corner in his first college game
- Notched five tackles, including a sack, in win at Texas
- Came up with his first-career interception in the win against Middle Tennessee while also adding the first forced fumble of his career, two solo tackles and two pass breakups
- Tallied three pass breakups and four solo tackles in win over UNLV
- Played in 12 games and earned letterman honors as a freshman

2015
- Notched four tackles and one pass breakup at Nebraska
- Had his first interception of the season against Wagner
- Tallied three tackles and one tackle for loss to go along with a forced fumble at Utah State
- Recorded four tackles in the bowl game against Utah
