BYU has an exclusive nine-year contract (2011-19) with ESPN to televise Cougar home football games on the ESPN networks. The BYU-ESPN relationship goes back to 1984, when the Cougars defeated No. 3 ranked Pitt in the first live football game televised on ESPN. Cougar men’s basketball games are also frequently broadcast on ESPN as part of the West Coast Conference television deal.

Thanks to its exclusive partnership with BYUtv and BYU Radio, more than 120 BYU athletic events are broadcast live to a national audience each year. In addition to the live game broadcasts, BYUtv and BYU Radio produce several studio shows, including BYUtv Sports Nation, After Further Review, Countdown to Kickoff, BYU Football Postgame Show and Behind the Mic with Greg Wrubell.
