Parents are John and Deanna...recruited by Montana, Oregon State, Oregon and Texas Christian...borhter, Brad, played for BYU and is currently serving a mission to Hawai'i.
Before BYU
All-district honorable mention and first-team all-South Coast...lettered three times in football, twice in basketball and once in baseball and track at North Bend High...coached by Howard Johnson (Montana).
Played as a backup tackle in several games.
Recuperated from knee surgery to start several games...played right tackle most of the season but started at right guard when John Borgia moved to center against Oregon State.
Broke his left hand in two-a-day practices...started at both tackle and guard during the season...was the top reserve over the second half of the season.
