Prepped at O. Perry Walker High...lettered in football and track...two-time all-district and All-West Bank in football...played defensive end and strong safety...helped lead team to district championship three years...coached by Rodney Baker (Wayne State).
Saw action with the junior varsity...suited up with the varsity.
Played behind Troy Long at strong safety...had seven tackles and two blocked punts.
Earned starting spot in spring drills...started all 13 games at strong safety...intercepted a pass against UTEP and returned in for a touchdown, one of the back-to-back TD interceptions paired with Bob Davis.
