Before BYU
High School - Lettered three times in football, basketball and baseball, plus once in track...all-state in football, basketball and baseball...coached by Davis Knight at American Fork High.
Junior College - Attended Ricks College, where he redshirted for a year and played for a year before transferring...named first team all-conference.
Saw a lot of playing time in the second half of the season...had 31 tackles and an interception...played most of the All American Bowl.
Second on team in defensive pionts with 193...had 86 tackles, seven of them for losses...recovered a fumble and had 11 hurries...started all 13 games...had seven unassisted tackles in the Freedom Bowl.
