Parents are Jimmy and Rosie...recruited by California, Arizona, Nebraska, Washington, Arizona State, Oregon, Washington State and Oklahoma...married to Leslie Durfey (from BYU gymnastics team) in July 1994...majoring in sociology.

Before BYU

Graduated from Bonanza High...lettered twice in football and baseball and three times in basketball...named all-state in football and basketball and all-conference in baseball...was the Gatorade Player of the Year...led league in rushing with 1,188 yards...coached by Horrace Smith (BYU).

Freshman Year 1991

His 44-yard TD run against Hawai'i was BYU's longest of the season...had a pair of 35-yard kickoff returns against utah State and UTEP...scored rushing TDs of five and 44 yards against Hawai'i...rushed for 112 yards against New Mexico, 121 yards and TD against Wyoming, 66 yards and a TD and caught eight passes for 163 yards and two TDs against San Diego State.

Sophmore Year 1992

Second team All-WAC...broke the 1,000-yard mark against Utah...only the third running back to do that in a single season at BYU...WAC Offensive Player of the Week against New Mexico...had an 80-yard touchdown run at Air Force...rushed for 129 yards against Fresno State, 149 against New Mexico and 146 against Air Force...scored 11 touchdowns...scored a 29-yard TD in the Aloha Bowl...selected as the team's outstanding running back.

Junior Year 1993

Caught two passes for 72 yards, including a 27-yard TD against Ohio State...scored two TDs at Colorado State and utah State...AT USUS had a 72-yard reception and a 44-yard rush, both longs for the season...did not play against Hawai'i because of injury suffered at New Mexico...rushed for 93 yards against Air Force and 85 and a TD at SDSU...moved up to fifth on BYU's all-time rushing yardage list...Almost All-America by The Football News and honorable mention All-WAC.
