Parents are Stephen and Jayne...recruited by UCLA, Miami and Stanford...served a mission to Scotland (1988-90)...married Jessica Celaya in July 1992...majoring in communications.
Before BYU
Graduated from Mountain View High in 1987...won 10 letters...four baseball, three in basketball, two in football and one in track...all-state and all-region two years...team MVP and most inspirational player...Chamber of Commerce Best Athlete Award...coached by Austin McNaughton (BYU).
Saw most of his playing time with the junior varsity.
Impressive in spring scrimmages...had two tackles at Penn State...hurt his knee.
Missed spring drills while recuperating from knee surgery...was a reserve at free safety and played on special teams in varsity games.
