Personal

Born in Athens, Greece, along with family moved in Los Angeles when he was six... zoology major... a sprinter on BYU's track team, where he ran a 9.8 100-yard dash... signed to play football at BYU without seeing the campus.

Before BYU

An outstanding baseball player at North High in Torrance... drafted by Orioles out of high school... was tired of baseball, however so decided to play football.

Junior Year 1969

Led the nation in punt returns and was ranked in the top ten in kickoff returns... also set an NCAA record, rolling up more combined yardage (punt and kickoff returns) in one season than any other player on record... the old mark of 966 yards was set by Bill Geyer of Colgate in 1941... Chris had a total of 1,075 (527 on punts, 548 via kickoff returns)... won first-team berth on all-conference selection in the Wac... only four other players, offense and defense, polled more votes... led BYU in unassisted tackles and pass deflections.

All-American candidate... besides being a spectacular return specalist, he is outstanding on defense with a team known for its defense
