Lettered twice in football and basketball and three times in track at Canby High...Pac-7 Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year...second-team all-state tight end and third-team linebacker...all-league as a tight end and linebacker...won the National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award from the Portland chapter...had 43 catches for 810 yards and 12 touchdowns...had 49 unassisted tackles and 36 assisted tackles, one interception and three sacks... first-team all-league in basketball ... anchored school's 4 X 100 relay team that finished second in state as a junior...coached by Mike Doty (Oregon College of Education).
