Parents are Ron and Melanie Menezes ... older sister Natasha swam for BYU ... graduated from high school with high honors by maintaining a 3.75 GPA or higher her whole high school career ... pre-management major ... also recruited by Utah, UC San Diego and UC Davis.
Before BYU
Part of the relay team that set the high school record in the 400 free relay ... helped her high school team win three team state titles ... two-time 400 free relay champion in 2006 and 2007 ... 2007 state champion in the 500 free ... named to the Denver Post All-Star Team in 2006 and 2007 ... had two top-24 finishes at the Junior Nationals in the 200 free and the 1650 free.
Competed in every meet of the season ... All-MWC Team for her efforts in the 500 and 1650 free ... finished fourth at the MWC Championships in the 1650 with a time of 17:02.81 ... swam the third leg of the 800 free relay team at the MWCC that took first place (7:18.88) ... recorded a season-best time in the 200 free (1:52.43) at the MWCC at the Phill Hansel Duals she swam a time of 10:15.62 in the 1000 free, her best time on the season ... held the BYU top time of the season in the 1650 free with her performance at the MWCC (17:02.81).
Competed in eight of nine dual meets on the season for the Cougars ... named to the All-Mountain West Conference team for her performance in the 500 free at MWC Championships ... finished eighth in the 500 free at MWCC with a preliminary time of 4:55.48 and a final time of 4:57.96 ... finished 10th in the 1650 freestyle at MWCC with a time of 17:09.46 ... finished third in both the 500 and 1000 free against Utah with times of 5:11.36 and 10:38.57, respectively ... finished seventh in the 1650 free at the Nike Cup with a time of 17:19.40 ... finished sixth in the 500 free at the Nike Cup with a time of 4:59.88 ... ranked second in both the 500 and 1650 free on the season for the Cougars ... ranked fifth in the 200 free for the Cougars ... ranked fourth in the 1000 free on the season for BYU.
