LONG BEACH, Calif. -- No. 67 BYU women's tennis planned to face No. 57 UC Irvine and No. 55 Long Beach State Friday and Saturday, respectively, but both matches were called due to bad weather.
The match against Long Beach began with singles because of the weather. After a few delays, it was called with the Cougars down 2-1.
The match on Friday against Irvine was canceled and a makeup date for the match has not been announced.
BYU returns for a two matches beginning Thursday with Nevada at noon MST, followed by the West Coast Conference opener against San Francisco Saturday at noon.

No. 67 BYU takes on No. 57 UC Irvine and No. 55 Long Beach State

PROVO, Utah -- No. 67 BYU women’s tennis looks to rebound as it travels to Southern California for matches against No. 57 UC Irvine and No. 55 Long Beach State Friday at 1:30 p.m. PST and Saturday at noon, respectively.
“This weekend is another great opportunity for us to play some ranked teams,” BYU head coach Lauren Jones-Spencer said. “We are looking forward to some great matches.”
The Cougars (2-4) broke into the ITA rankings last week for the first time since 2011 and face their fifth and sixth ranked opponents this season in the Anteaters (4-5) and 49ers (7-1).
Last week, BYU lost to rival Utah in a hard-fought match, 4-3. Picking up victories for the Cougars were three freshmen: Mayci Jones, Toby Miclat and Savannah Ware. Jones beat Tereza Bekerova, 7-5, 3-3 (wd). Miclat defeated Paige Miles, 6-2, 6-7, 10-8, for her 15th win of year while Ware ousted Luisa Gerstner Da Rosa, 7-6, 6-4, to improve to 10-6.
The Cougars return home next week for two matches beginning with Nevada March 6 followed by the West Coast Conference opener against San Francisco March 8, respectively.
