Responsibilities
Jeff Townsend joined the Student Athlete Academic Center staff in the fall of 2006 as the CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator. In his new position part of his responsibilities includes teaching the CHAMPS Life Skills course for all new freshmen student-athletes. In addition he will coordinate the programs of community service, career counseling, scholarship and internship programming as well as serve as an advisor to Cougar Council.

Bachelors (2004) and Masters (2006) in Sport Management from the University of Illinois.

Prior to BYU
Townsend spent 5 years at the University of Illinois pursuing an undergraduate degree in Sport Management. While attending school at the University of Illinois, Townsend played and coached wheelchair basketball throughout the U.S. and around the world.
