NCAA Championship Results-Day 2

ATLANTA – Jake Taylor earned first-team All-America honors in the 100-yard backstroke at the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships Friday at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.

"Jake was very impressive today, and I'm very proud of him," BYU head coach John Brooks said. "For him to come back in the finals and hold his fourth-place spot was very impressive. He is a racer and he doesn't like to lose. He did what he had to do to be fourth in the country, and he is an All-American, which is extremely exciting. We are hoping that he can come back and make the finals again tomorrow."

Taylor clocked a time of 45.47 for fourth place in the 100 back preliminaries. In the event finals, he was able to keep that fourth-place spot, swimming a 45.52.

Taylor and Payton Sorenson will swim Saturday in the 200 back and 100 freestyle, respectively. For more information, visit the championship info page. Preliminaries will be streamed online through a live webcast and finals can be streamed on ESPN3.com. Fans can also follow the action on the live results page or the Meet Mobile app. Full results will be posted following each day’s events on the men’s schedule page.
