27 Swimmers and Divers Named All-MWC

COLORADO SPRINGS -- On Tuesday 11 BYU men and 16 Cougar women swimmers and divers were named to the All-Mountain West Conference Team for the 2007-08 season. The Cougar men won the MWC regular-season title, while the BYU women closed off the year winning both the MWC regular-season title and the MWC Championships that were held last week.

Four individuals that were named All-MWC for the fourth year -- Jorge Azevedo, Travis Price, Jamie Bloom and Angela Goodson-Price, highlighted this group of 27 BYU Cougars. Azevedo has received this honor all four of his years at BYU for his efforts in the 100-yard butterfly among other events. The same can be said for Price as among other events that he has been named All-MWC, he has always received this award for his performance in the 200 and 500 freestyle races while he has been a Cougar.

Goodson-Price has been named to the All-MWC team for her performance in the 100 fly and the 200 IM for her fourth consecutive year and she also received this year-end MWC honor in the 200 fly this season. Goodson-Price is also a two-time All-American in the 100 fly during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Bloom has received this honor from the conference in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

The Cougars also have 10 of these 2007-08 All-MWC Team members that are first year recipients -- five men and five women.
