Third–straight WCC game on the road for BYU, at San Diego Saturday

PROVO, Utah— BYU women’s basketball continues West Coast Conference play on the road for its third-straight contest this week.

The Cougars travel to San Diego to take on the Toreros on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. PST from the Jenny Craig Pavilion. A live video stream will be available on the WCC Network.

ABOUT BYU

• BYU women’s basketball has compiled a 13-8, 8-3 record on the season; is in second place in the WCC; had its six-game win streak snapped with the loss at No. 12 Gonzaga last Saturday
• The team is averaging 61.1 points and 40.2 rebounds a game; is 13-4 when it gets more blocks than its opponents; is 12-1 when dishing out more assists than opponents; is 12-1 when leading at the half
• The team is nationally ranked third in three categories: blocked shots (136) & blocked shots per game (6.5); field goal percentage defense (32.7); 19th (55.4) in scoring defense; 28th (28.9) in defensive rebounds per game
• Two players are scoring in double digits for BYU led by 13.9 points from Paisley Johnson; Brenna Drollinger contributes 11.9 points; Drollinger ranks 24th all-time in career points with 1,199; leads in assists and steals with 4.2 and 1.9 averages, respectively

• The Cougars are holding opponents to just 55.5 points and are allowing only 36.9 rebounds a game
• BYU leads the overall series with the Toreros 13-6; when playing in San Diego, the Cougars have a 3-4 record; in this year’s first matchup between the two league foes, BYU picked up the 52-36 win in Provo on Jan. 11

• San Diego has a 13-9, 7-4 record on the season and is coming off a 62-58 road win at Portland; the Toreros are in third place in this week’s WCC standings
• The Toreros have two players that are scoring in double figures, led by 12.1 points from Myah Pace; Madison Pollock follows with 11.4 points; Patricia Brossman is the squad's leading rebounder with a 6.7 average; Jordyn Edwards leads in assists dishing out 3.6 per game; Pace leads in steals and blocks with 3.1 and 0.54 average, respectively
• San Diego is averaging 60.5 points and pulls down 35.4 rebounds a contest
