PROVO, Utah – Heading into the second half of the season, just two home meets remain for the BYU women’s gymnastics team. The Cougars host Southern Utah on Saturday at 1 p.m. MST from the Smith Fieldhouse.

The Cougars are returning home after the Perfect 10 Challenge last week in Oklahoma City where the team took third place behind a 194.175 effort, highlighted by the season’s best score 49.050 on the bars.

The Thunderbirds are right with BYU in the expanded rankings, with Southern Utah coming in at No. 32 with an average score of 194. 433 and the Cougars right behind at No. 33, an average of 194.411.

SUU has topped 195 in its last three meets, including a season-best 195.700 last week vs. Sacramento State.

In its last outing, BYU struggled on beam and vault and will look to bounce back with better scores. With the bars seeing a high score in the latest competition, confidence continues to build on that event along with a strong showing on floor, an event that has been consistent all year.

The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m. MST on Saturday, Feb. 23 in the Smith Fieldhouse. Follow live scores at byu.statbroadcast.com.
