Johnson named MRGC Gymnast of the Week

LOGAN, Utah – Junior Makenzie Johnson was named the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Gymnast of the Week for last week’s performance.

Johnson is the second Cougar to receive the weekly honor this season with freshman Jill Van Mierlo being honored one month ago.

Johnson finished on top in the all-around with a 39.275 in a tri-meet with Central Michigan and Utah State last Friday. She also claimed the individual title on floor exercise with a 9.875 and finished in the top five on vault and beam with a 9.825 and 9.800, respectively.

The Cougars will compete in their final meet of the season at Utah State on Friday at 7 p.m. MDT before heading to the MRGC Championships.
