Cougars Stop No. 12 Chippewas

MT. PLEASANT -- In a meet that snapped Central Michigan's 27-match home winning streak, the Cougars defeated the No. 12 Chippewas 194.975-194.525.

BYU had an excellent night considering they competed Thursday night and spent Friday traveling to Michigan. Their winning record now comes to 10-4.

Though there were not significantly high scores Kacie Capra (9.875) tied her career high on floor and Dayna Smart (9.900) tied her career high on beam.

CMU gymnasts took first on vault and bars and BYU gymnasts took first on beam (Smart) and floor (Capra). In the all-around BYU took the top three spots with Jaime (39.100) followed by Kacie Capra (38.950) and Marie-Helene Claveau (38.900).

Up next for the Cougars is their third match against Southern Utah. The meet will be Saturday, March 19th, in Cedar City at 7 p.m.
