PROVO, Utah – BYU women's tennis will begin the 2018-19 regular season on the road at the Metroplex Mania in Dallas from Jan. 11-14.

"The girls have anxiously waited for their team season to begin," BYU head coach Holly Parkinson Hasler said. "I am excited about our players and the team culture we have worked so hard to create."

Senior Taylah Beckman, juniors Polina Malykh, Katie Fitt, Kate Cusick and Samantha Smith, sophomores Madeline Almeida and Anastasia Abramyan and freshman Morgan Hall will represent BYU at the tournament. "The Metroplex Mania will be a great event to give the girls a lot of matches in a short amount of time. This will allow us to be more than ready for our first dual match against Weber State the following week," Hasler said.

Host Southern Methodist University (SMU), Northern Arizona University (NAU), Northeastern State University (NSU) and the University of Iowa will all compete in the tournament as well. The teams will play in flights with one winner for each flight in both singles and doubles. Match play will begin on Friday, Jan. 11, at 12:00 p.m. CST. Live streaming and stats will not be available.
