No. 10 BYU looks to continue win streak on the road
PROVO, Utah – No. 10 BYU women’s volleyball looks to continue its nine-match win streak on the road this week against Pacific and Saint Mary’s.
Last week, the Cougars (14-2) defeated San Francisco and Santa Clara at home to begin 5-0 in the West Coast Conference. BYU remains the only undefeated team in league play.
Pacific
The Cougars first head to Stockton, Calif., to take on Pacific (14-3, 3-1 WCC) Thursday at 6 p.m. PDT.
BYU won both meetings a year ago during conference play; however, the Tigers lead the overall series 7-6.
This season, Pacific returns five starters and its libero. The Tigers went an even 15-15 last year.
Saint Mary’s
The Cougars next travel to Moraga, Calif., to go up against Saint Mary’s (4-10, 0-4 WCC) Saturday at 1 p.m. PDT.
The Gaels lead the overall series against BYU 7-5. The teams split the series last year with each team winning on its home court.
Saint Mary’s finished third in the conference a year ago with an 18-9, 13-5 WCC record. The Gaels return four starters to this season’s squad.
