SAN BRUNO, Calif. - After an outstanding week that resulted in two wins over top-20 teams, BYU senior outside hitter McKenna Miller was named the UCU Player of the Week by the West Coast Conference on Monday.

Miller helped No. 12 BYU defeat No. 2 Stanford two days after defeating No. 18 Utah in a pair of 3-1 road victories. She began the week with a game-high 22 kills on a .413 hit percentage against the Utes on Thursday in Salt Lake City. Miller added five digs, a block and an assist as BYU won its fourth-straight match over its rival.

Two days later, the Cougars traveled to Stanford for a big match in Maples Pavilion. After falling in the first set, BYU won the next three thanks in large part to Miller’s 18 kills, two aces, three digs and a block.

In all, Miller averaged five kills per set on the week (40 total) and hit .319 against two teams who had kept opponents to hitting percentages of .200 or less and who both ranked in the top-30 in the nation in blocks per set coming into the week.

The award is Miller's second of the year after claiming Player of the Week two weeks ago as well.
