Three spikers named Academic All-WCC

PROVO, Utah—Three Cougar volleyball players were named to the Academic All-West Coast Conference team Monday for maintaining academic excellence while being significant contributors to their team.

BYU’s senior middle blocker Nicole Warner, junior opposite hitter Jennifer Hamson and sophomore libero Tia Withers received the honors.

Warner, who averages 1.76 blocks per set, made the team with a 3.61 GPA in exercise science.

Hamson leads the Cougars with 4.01 kills per set. Also a member of the women’s basketball team, Hamson keeps up with school and two sports, maintaining a 3.69 GPA in exercise science.

Withers helps out with 3.16 digs per set after recording a career-high 30 digs against San Diego Saturday. Withers has a 3.81 GPA in elementary education.
