Kealaluhi transferred to BYU from Grossmont College as an honorable mention All-American. Kealaluhi was named Co-Receiver of Game four times and the Offensive Impact Player of the Year by the BYU coaching staff his senior season. His 46-yard fourth quarter touchdown catch from Steve Sarkisan against Texas A&M was selected by BYU coaches as the play of the year.
