Parents are Al and Joyce...served a church mission to San Jose, California from 1988-90 in the same mission with teammates Mike Empey and Elia Faupula..married Victoria Roeder in December, 1991...they have a son, Shad...successfully balances diabetes and serves as a spokesman for the Utah American Diabetes Association...recruited by Arizona and Tulane...majoring in communications.
Before BYU
Earned all-league and all-metro honors at Richardson High...coached by Duke Winston (Arkansas).
Other College
Selected as the Western States League MVP in 1991 at Ricks College...was second team All-American.
Started all games...honored by coaches three times as linebacker of the game, including Notre Dame contest...had a pass deflection against Wyoming and Notre Dame...forced a fourth quarter fumble in the four-point loss to Hawai'i...led BYU in hurries with 16.
