Before BYU

Graduated from Mountain View High where he was senior class president and a member of the honor society...lettered three years in football and track...Arizona State All-Star...selected to the all 5-A team...helped Mountain View to a 13-1 season and the state championship...first-team coaches' utility All-American...5-A Arizona state champion in discus as a junior and senior...state champion in the shot put as senior...set school record in the discus...played in the Arizona All-Star Game and in the Down Under Bowl in Australia...coached by Jesse Parker (Kansas St.).

BYU Hall of Fame

Freshman Year 1997

Participated in spring drills...Academic All-WAC...had a pass deflection against Hawai`i...was second-unit from the Arizona State game through the end of the season...was coaches' special teams player vs. Rice

Sophmore Year 1998

Started the Murray State game at linebacker in place of injured Brad Martin...was named the coaches' special teams player of the game at Washington and vs. San Jose State...recorded two solo tackles vs. New Mexico...picked up two unassisted tackles in the WAC Championships game against Air Force.

Junior Year 1999

Participated in spring drills...played in all 11 regular-season games as a junior, starting the last nine at weak-side linebacker...ranked third on the team among linebackers with 46 tackles (31 unassisted and 15 assisted), including five tackles for a loss of 19 yards...recorded three sacks for a net loss of seven yards...in pass defense had four breakups and five quarterback hurries...forced three fumbles...earned coaches' award for linebackers in games against Washington and Air Force...received coaches' award for special teams in game against New Mexico...second on the team with seven unassisted tackles against Marshall in the Motor City Bowl, including one for a two-yard loss.

Senior Year 2000

Played in five games before a career-ending knee injury...recorded 11 tackles, including three for loss...had two tackles for loss, a sack and a deflected pass against Florida State...had a season-high five tackles versus Air Force.
