• Son of Ronald and Tammy Tye
• Has two brothers and two sisters
• Born in Salt Lake City
• Served an LDS mission to Baton Rouge, Louisiana 2007-09
• Favorite movie is Fight Club, favorite book is The Book of Mormon, favorite band is Weezer, favorite actor is Denzel Washington, favorite food is ice cream
• Non-athlete heros: his parents because they are the greatest people he knows and the best example he has had
• Grew up coming to BYU volleyball games and has always wanted to play here

High School:

• Volleyball and basketball letterwinner at Taylorsville High School
• Played under head coach, and father, Ronald Tye, for volleyball
• Team captain
• MVP senior year
• Three time All-State

Club:

• Played for the Twin Peaks club team under coaches Barry Larsen and Ronald Tye
