Born in Escondido, Calif....parents are Jay and Nedra Bunker...majoring in pre-medicine...served an LDS mission in Madrid, Spain...father played on the BYU basketball team (1971-73)...mother was a Cougarette and song leader at BYU (1969-72)...enjoys playing the piano, guitar, cooking, snowboarding and wakeboarding...an Eagle Scout.

Sophmore Year 1999

Member of the 1999 NCAA National Championship team...played in 17 of the Cougars' 31 matches...ranked third on the BYU roster with a .416 average at the net, collecting a career-best 101 kills on 178 attempts...Had five aces and recorded 54 digs...Tallied 55 total blocks...recorded a season-high 12 kills against UC San Diego on Feb. 2... Was 11-of-15 against UC Irvine to produce a career high .733 hitting percentage.

Junior Year 2000

Earned AVCA All-America Second-Team honors...named All-MPSF Second Team...earned Academic All-District honors...recorded 10 or more kills in 15 matches on the season, including a career high 21 kills against Ohio State (March 24) and UC Santa Barbara (Apr. 8)...produced 309 kills on the season... hit a stellar .459 on the year, connecting on 309 of 529 attempts...led the BYU roster with 178 blocks, including 169 block assists...recorded 10 or more blocks in nine matches on the season, including five straight matches to start the season...recorded a season high 17 blocks against lew (Jan. 15)...logged a team-leading 23 aces on the season, averaging .26 per game...played in 87 of the Cougars' 102 games.

Member of the 2001 NCAA National Championship team ... First-Team All-American ... First-Team All-MPSF ... UCLA Coach Al Scates said, "He is the best blocker in the nation." ... averaged 2.62 kills per game while hitting .405 ... led the team in total blocks with 162 and a 1.84 blocks per game average ... had 20 block solos on the season ... played in all 27 of the Cougar's matches.
