Born in Reno, Nev. ...parents are Mike and Julie... majoring in wellness/fitness... Enjoys eating Mexican food, playing beach volleyball, hanging out with his four brothers, playing soccer, skateboarding and snowboarding...became interested in playing volleyball after playing beach volleyball at Lake Tahoe...played for the Las Vegas Juniors club team...came to BYU to "win a national championship."

Chosen as a first team All-American his sophomore and senior years at Clark High School in Elko, Nev. ...played for Mike Delasandro at Orange Coast Junior College...chosen as a junior college second team All-American... named most valuable player at junior college championships.

Member of the 1999 NCAA National Championship team...played in 28 of the Cougars' 31 matches...tallied 64 kills on 142 attempts (.268)...used a lot in defensive situations, produced 60 digs and 15 blocks...recorded six aces...produced a season-high eight kills in two different matches...connected on a season-high 8-of-13 attempts (.538) with just one error against UC San Diego...Chalked up 10 digs against Long Beach State during the regular season.
All-MPSF Honorable Mention ... Totaled 327 kills on the season with a 4.04 kills per game average ... hit .309 on the season ... played in 24 of the Cougars' 27 matches ... was second on the team with a 2.12 digs per game average ... had a total of 172 digs ... added 68 total blocks and 37 assists.
