Women's golf travels to Texas to compete in Red Raider Invitational
PROVO, Utah — After placing first in the BYU at Entrada Classic, BYU women’s golf seeks its sixth win of the season as the team travels to Lubbock, Texas, to participate in the Texas Red Raider Invitational on Friday.
“This tournament has a great field of teams,” BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. “That is why we are playing in this event. We always want to play against the best competition, wherever that might be. We love to compete and are excited to get after it again.”
The Cougars' last tournament took place on March 14-15, at Entrada Golf Club in Saint George, Utah. Hosting the event, BYU took first place as a team, and Lea Garner and Rose Huang placed in the top 10 individually.
The Texas Red Raider Invitational will be BYU's fifth event of the spring and is the first time that the Cougars will compete in the Texas Red Raider Invitational. The tournament will be played on the par-71, 6,541-yard Rawls Course.
Texas Tech will play host to 13 teams: No. 25 BYU, Cal Poly, Colorado State, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, No. 50 New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Texas, No. 41 Purdue, No. 28 SMU, Texas State and Tulsa.
Groupings will tee off in a shotgun start Friday at 9:00 a.m. CT. Links to live stats can be found on the BYU women’s golf schedule page.
