Lundell named NCAA Division I PING All-American

BYU standout Carson Lundell was named Monday to the NCAA Division I PING All-American Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Lundell was named honorable mention and becomes the 82nd All-American honoree in program history.

Lundell held the number one spot in the starting lineup for the Cougars this past season, was named to the West All-Region Team and posted top-25 finishes in nine of 11 tournaments.  His stellar play earned him six top-10 finishes, five top-5’s and three first-place finishes during his 2020-21 campaign.

The junior from Alpine, Utah has been busy since the conclusion of the 2020-21 season, carding top-25 finishes at the Sunnehanna Amateur as well as the North and South Amateur Championship—two of the premier amateur tournaments in the United States. 

Lundell also posted a 14-under two-day total at the U.S. Amateur qualifier at Soldier Hollow Golf Course last week. He will tee it up at the U.S. Amateur, August 9-15 at the famed Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania alongside BYU teammates Cole Ponich and David Timmins who also punched their tickets at the Soldier Hollow qualifier.
