Men Finish Eighth in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. –After shooting its highest round of the tournament, the BYU men’s golf team still managed to move up the rankings, finishing eighth overall at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic on Tuesday.

Despite shooting a 7-over 79 in his final round, junior Zac Blair placed highest for the Cougars, tied for 22nd. Blair had his most success on the back-nine where he shot 1-over for the tournament.  Of the 72 holes he played, Blair shot par or better on all but nine.

For the third consecutive tournament Justin Keiley finished behind Blair for the Cougars. Keiley managed to claw back from a poor first round of 5-over with back-to-back rounds of 1-over and 1-under. He finished tied for 27th.

Cole Ogden was the only other BYU golfer in the top-50, finishing tied for 33rd.

The men will be in Arizona next when they compete in the Arizona Invitational on March 16.
