PROVO, Utah -- For the second straight year junior Francis Sargeant was named to the 2013-14 West Coast Conference Men’s Tennis All-Academic Team, the league announced Thursday.

Sargeant, a sociology major, holds a 3.30 GPA while leading BYU with a 28-11 record, including 17-6 at the No. 1 singles slot in dual match play.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport.  To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.

Other Cougar players qualified academically for the honor but were ineligible as freshmen.
