BYU Voted Third, Hill Named to Preseason All-WCC
SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Preseason Coaches Poll has BYU slated at No. 3, the conference announced today. Senior and Oracle/ITA ranked No. 98 Sean Hill was voted to the Preseason All-WCC Team for the second-straight year.
The Cougars (47 points) were selected third behind Oracle/ITA No. 22 Pepperdine (63 points), and San Diego (58 points), the preseason favorite from last season.
The preseason poll and All-WCC teams were selected by a vote from the coaches in the conference whose programs are competing this season. Pacific has decided not to play this spring. Coaches cannot vote for their own teams and student-athletes.
Five of the six student-athletes named to the 2020-21 Preseason All-WCC Team were also voted to last year’s preseason team, including Hill. Pepperdine’s Daniel De Jonge is the only new student-athlete to this year’s preseason team.
BYU’s first conference match is scheduled for Mar. 6, at home against Santa Clara.
