Five Cougars named to 2020 MPSF All-Academic Team

PROVO, Utah – Five Cougars received Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic honors, MPSF Executive Director Al Beaird announced.

Zach Eschenberg, Davide Gardini, Miki Jauhiainen, Jon Stanley and Wil Stanley each earned the academic accolade.

To be nominated for the award, student-athletes must be nominated by their institutions based on the following criteria:

  1. 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average.
  2. Student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically.
  3. Student-athlete must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is received.
  4. Student-athlete must have competed in 50 percent or more of the institution’s competition in his or her respective sport.

BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY

  • Zach Eschenberg: Neuroscience, Senior, Outside Hitter
  • Davide Gardini: Sociology, Sophomore, Outside Hitter
  • Miki Jauhiainen: Computer Science, Senior, Middle Blocker
  • Jon Stanley: Exercise & Wellness, Redshirt Freshman, Outside Hitter/Libero
  • Wil Stanley: Psychology, Senior, Setter

This marks the third year in a row that both Jauhiaihen and Stanley have been named MPSF Scholar-Athletes.
