Day 1 Recap

TUCSON, Ariz. - Freshman Alexandra White tied in fourth place to lead the BYU women's golf team to tie in sixth place after the final round of the Mountain View Invitational on Saturday.

"We only moved up one spot and Alexandra shot 71 and did really well," BYU women's golf coach Carrie Roberts said. "I'm proud of them and we’ve got one more tournament before the West Coast Conference tournament. We just have to keep improving and we’re hitting the ball better, so we’re looking forward to it."

The Cougars improved one place after Friday's round to tie with New Mexico State at 24-over-par. Nebraska won the 15-team tournament at 10-over-par with Kent State trailing by one stroke to finish in second.
