Day 1 Recap

SATICOY, Calif. – BYU women’s golf dropped to fifth place in the second round of the West Coast Conference Championships on Tuesday.

“It got better today, which was a good thing,” BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. “Kendra (Dalton) had 33 in the front nine, probably the lowest you’re going to see out here. Hopefully we can climb up tomorrow. Alex (White) has a great chance of winning the individual title, so hopefully she can do that.”

The Cougars are in fifth place at 64-over-par. Pepperdine and Gonzaga battled for first place throughout the day, with the Bulldogs ending the day in the top spot (+45). Individually, Ciera Min from Gonzaga is in first place.

Alexandra White is in sole possession of fourth place after the second day, shooting nine-over-par. She shot 75 in the second round.

Kendra Dalton and Lea Garner both ended the day in the top 20, tied for 14th and 17th, respectively. Dalton is shooting 17-over-par, while Garner is shooting 18-over-par.

Maria Yacaman is in 23rd at 24-over-par. Rounding out the team, Carly Oldroyd shot 29-over-par to end the second round in 25th place.
