Prepped at Concord High where he lettered twice in football and basketball and three times in baseball ... only junior in history of his school to win athlete of the year honors ... was two-time all-league ... league MVP, All-East Bay and All-Northern Cal ... was 9-1 as a junior with a 0.71 ERA in 59 innings ... threw a no-hitter and a perfect game (72 pitches) in the same year ... was 7-3 as a senior in 72 innings with 105 strikeouts ... coached by Todd Highberger ... recruited by Pacific, Reno and St. Mary's.
