Tuckett Slade has been the BYU baseball director of baseball operations since 2016, supporting numerous aspects of the program including recruiting, fundraising, academics, travel, operations and coordination with various groups in athletics and across campus.

Slade has helped BYU win West Coast Conference titles in three of the last four seasons (2016, 2017, 2019) and the Cougars first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 15 years in 2017.

Previous to BYU, Slade was an assistant baseball coach at Salt Lake Community College for four seasons. He has also served as the head baseball coach at his alma mater, West High School in Salt Lake City, and has been on staff at the Marshall Gates Foundation Elite Summer Baseball Program and Frozen Ropes Baseball Academy.

Slade played collegiately at Colorado Northwestern Community College and Bellevue University. At Bellevue he won two Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference championships in 2008 and 2009 and participated in the 2008 NAIA World Series. Slade led the Bruins with a .447 batting average his senior year, earning MCAC Second Team and All-Nebraska Second Team recognition.

Slade earned his bachelor’s degree from Bellevue University in 2009 in physical education and sports studies with a minor in coaching theory, earning Academic All-American and MCAC Scholar Athlete of the Year in the process. He and his wife, Jamie, have two children, Miya and Tuckett Jr.
