Brent Haring has been a member of the BYU baseball staff the last eight seasons as an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator. He has been part of a staff that has developed 24 All-WCC honorees, seven All-Region honorees, four Freshman All-Americans and two All-Americans. During his time at BYU, 14 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including two (Jacob Hanneman and Jaycob Brugman) who have seen time in the majors.

In addition, the 2019 BYU recruiting class was ranked 16th in the nation under Haring's guidance, the highest ranking in program history.

Since joining the program in the summer of 2012, Haring has helped BYU claim West Coast Conference regular season championships in 2016, 2017 and 2019. BYU advanced to the NCAA Tournament after the Cougars also won the WCC Tournament in 2017.

Under his guidance BYU has brought in some of the top recruiting classes in program history as well, with the recent 2019 class ranked 16th by D1Baseball and the 25th-best recruiting class in the country by Baseball America. 

Haring is also the head coach for the American Samoa National Team and its various divisions since 2010. In January 2019, the team defeated Australia, ranked No. 7 in the world, and took second place at the Oceania U-18 Baseball Championship in Guam.

Previous to BYU, Haring was an assistant coach at Dixie State for three seasons. He has also coached at Harding University, Mt. Olive College, College of the Ozarks and Southern Virginia University. 

Haring played for Colorado Northwestern Junior College and at Southern Virginia where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and recreation administration. He also holds a master’s degree in education/kinesiology from Harding University.

He and his wife Mary have two sons, Tomasi and Nikolao.
