Personal: Born in West Valley City, Utah...parents are Barry and Ann Larsen...one of five children...served an LDS Church mission to Ventura, California...enjoys collecting baseball cards and playing basketball...has been playing volleyball since he was six years old.

Before BYU: Listed on the High Honor Roll at Hunter High School...named three-time all-region setter and regional MVP...earned all-state honors as a sophomore, junior and senior...recorded a career-high 23 blocks in a single match...coached by his father Barry...played at the elite club level for Twin Peaks under coach Cory Solomon... recorded 11 blocks in one game at the club level...led team to a third place finish in the SCVA Regional tournament and sixth in nationals during the 1996 season.
