Born in Las Vegas...parents are Tom and Barbara Doxey of Las Vegas...one of three children...brother Tom Doxey plays baseball at BYU...father was a four-year letterwinner as a swimmer at the University of Utah...started playing volleyball after trying out for his high school team as a freshman in order to stay in shape for basketball.

Before BYU

A Nevada Silver Scholar at Durango High School...received the Durango HS Academic Athlete Award...named the region's Most Valuable Player as a senior...earned regional and state tournament MVP honors in 2000...was named the Las Vegas Review Journal Volleyball Player of the Year...won back-to-back state championships...led high school team to an undefeated regular-season as a senior... played for Sean Flanagan and Jason Kepner on the Las Vegas Volleyball Club.
