PROVO -- After 110 minutes of scoreless play in pouring rain and a 0-0 tie against Cal Poly Saturday night, the Cougars remain the only team in NCAA Division I women's soccer to not allow a goal in 2007.
BYU's shutout streak is now extended to eight games as senior goalkeeper Erika Woodbury recorded four saves, one in each period, and her 35th career shutout. BYU?s record is now 6-0-2 on the season, and the Cougars and head coach Jennifer Rockwood will seek their 200th win against Washington at South Stadium on Monday at 8 p.m.
"The defense and Erika Woodbury played another great game," Rockwood said. "All our focus now is on getting the players to set up offensively."
Both the first and second halves were similar in the stat category as the Cougars' outshot the Mustangs 7-3 in both periods. At game's end BYU led the category with a total of 16-9 and eight shots on goal to Cal Poly's 4.
BYU posed its biggest threat against the Mustangs in the 25th minute when BYU's star forward Katie Larkin (Draper, Utah ? Alta HS) beat two defenders to bring the ball across the midfield. She passed the ball to Carolyn Swenson (Fruit Heights, Utah - Davis HS) who attempted to cross the ball, but the keeper put a hand on it.
In the ensuing malay, Jessica Aquino-Greenfield attempted to capitalize on the free ball and took a shot, sending the ball into the net. The crowd erupted, but the official's flag was up indicating an offside penalty, and the goal was not recorded.
"Normally I would say the weather doesn't really affect us, but tonight was a different story," Rockwood said. "The conditions were really slick and it affected both us and Cal-Poly."
Monday's game against Washington will be another "Ward Family Home Evening Night" at which entire singles wards can attend the game for just $25 if a representative of the ward brings a ward list.

PROVO -- BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood will seek both her and BYU's 200th victory against Cal Poly Saturday at 7 p.m. at South Stadium.
Rockwood has been at the helm of the women's soccer team since it became a Division 1 program. Her record is 199-61-19 and has led the team to five Mountain West Conference Championships. BYU has also reached the NCAA tournament the last ten years in a row under her direction.
She was named the 1996 Soccer Buzz West Region Coach of the Year and WAC Coach of the Year, as well as the 2000 Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year.
Cal Poly is off to its worst start in team history with a 1-6 record on the year, but have not finished below .500 in the last 15 years. The Mustangs lost to Utah 2-0 on Thursday.
Fans can use their ticket stubs from the BYU vs. Air Force football game to get into Saturday's soccer game for free. Regular ticket prices are $5 for adults and $4 for students. Group rates are also available.
