The Women's Swim Team Head to the Olympic Training Facility

PROVO -- Coach Stan Crump and the BYU women's swim team are headed to the U.S. Olympic Training facility in Colorado Springs, Colo., this Wednesday through Saturday to continue their preparations for the 2007-08 season.

"Our main focus of this trip is to take advantage of their top-of-the-line facilities," BYU coach Crump said. "They have advanced film equipment that looks at each stroke of our swimmers so we are able to analyze it better. It is the same equipment the Olympic team uses so you know that they are sparing no expense."

The swim team has been practicing together since the start of school and will see its first competitive action next week at the Don Reddish Relays in Salt Lake City.

"Going to the Olympic Training facility is also a great opportunity for our athletes to bond more and get to know each other even better than they do now," coach Crump said.

BYU hopes to build upon its 2006-07 Mountain West Conference Tournament Championship. The Cougar women's team has also recently received another accolade as the team received the top spot in this year's MWC preseason coaches poll.

The Don Reddish Relays will take place on Oct. 12 at 6 p.m.
