Cluff Voted Academic All-District
PROVO, Utah - BYU sophomore infielder Jackson Cluff has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 Team, selected by CoSIDA.
A pre-business major with a 3.85 cumulative GPA, Cluff is currently batting .327 with 55 hits. He leads the team with 47 runs, 16 doubles, three triples, 48 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. The Meridian, Idaho, native is also an excellent fielder and has started at either second base, third base or shortstop in every game this season, helping the Cougars to a 31-13 record and No. 25 national ranking.
Cluff is the first BYU baseball player to earn CoSIDA honors since Dillon Robinson was named all-district in 2015.
Academic All-District First Team honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected next month.
District 8 is made up eight states in the Western region of the United States – Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawai'i, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average at his current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
