Cluff and Hale Take All-Region Honors
PROVO, Utah - BYU senior right fielder Brock Hale and sophomore shortstop Jackson Cluff were both named to the ABCA/Rawlings West All-Region Second Team.
The duo led the Cougars this season in almost every statistical category, helping BYU win the West Coast Conference championship and a 36-17 record.
The WCC Player of the Year, Hale started all 53 games in right field, leading the team with a .330 batting average, 67 hits, 11 home runs, a .571 slugging percentage, 38 walks and a .460 on-base percentage.
Cluff, an All-WCC selection, also started in all 53 games, led the team with 57 runs, 20 doubles, three triples, 56 RBIs and 12 stolen bases. He recently signed a contract with the Washington Nationals after being selected by the club in the sixth round of the MLB Draft.

The ABCA, founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 11,000 members represent all 50 states and 23 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include eight divisions.
