10 Cougars named to WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The BYU women's soccer team had 10 student-athletes selected to the West Coast Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2012-2013 academic year. The WCC recognized over 1,000 student-athletes from nine schools for balancing academic excellence and athletic success.

Annie Amos, Erica Owens, Rachel Manning and Jaiden Thornock made the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll for the second consecutive year. Sarah Chambers was the only Cougar to earn gold honors, three Cougars earned silver honors and six earned bronze honors.

To be named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll student-athletes must have earned a varsity letter in a sport where the WCC crowned a champion during 2012-2013, maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher and completed an average of 12 graded credit hours per term. The honor roll recipients are split into three categories based on GPA. Gold honors go to students who earned a 3.75 or higher. Silver honors were awarded to student-athletes with GPAs between 3.74 and 3.5 and bronze honors went to student-athletes with GPAs between 3.49 and 3.00.
