BYU hosts rival Utah
The No. 6 BYU women's soccer team will play its rival the University of Utah in the Deseret First Duel on Friday Sep. 6 at 7 p.m. on South Field.
The Cougars (3-0-0) defeated LSU 4-2 on the road on Labor Day and set a new home attendance record against Nebraska on Aug. 31 in a 3-0 win. The shutout was also the program's 100th home shutout.
Utah played Cal State Fullerton to a scoreless draw on the road Aug. 30. The Utes (1-0-2) have yet to play a home game while beating Western Kentucky and drawing Kentucky on the road. Utah was picked ninth in the Pac-12.
The Cougars were picked third in the West Coast Conference this season. BYU had a five-game winning streak snapped last season in Salt Lake City as Utah won 1-0. The loss was the only regular season defeat for the Cougars in 2012.
Following Utah, BYU will face another Pac-12 opponent as they travel to Oregon on Sep. 12.
Game Promotion
After breaking the attendance record against Nebraska, Friday's rivalry game will be no different. Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase a reserved chair for $7 from the BYU ticket office.
