No. 13 Cougars host Saint Mary's for Senior Day

BYU vs. Saint Mary's Game Notes

PROVO, Utah – No. 13 BYU women’s soccer closes out the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. MT against Saint Mary’s on South Field.

The Cougars (14-2-2, 6-1-1) host the Gaels (7-8-4, 2-4-2) with the possibility of a West Coast Conference title still alive. The game will be streamed on TheW.tv and can be heard on the Cougar IMG Sports Network, ESPN 960 AM, BYU Radio an Sirius XM 143.

With a win, BYU needs a San Francisco loss or tie for the Cougars' fourth-straight WCC title. The Dons kick off at Portland at 8 p.m. MT. The game will be streamed on TheW.tv.

BYU will celebrate Senior Day and honor seniors Marissa Nimmer Linehan, Camille Green Heath and Sarah Chambers Gardner before the game.

The Cougars are on a 16-game home win streak which is the longest in the nation and have shut out their opponents in each of the past 10 home games. Another shutout on Saturday would tie the WCC record for shutouts in conference play at seven.

BYU is currently first in the nation in save percentage, second in shots per game, third in goals against average, fourth in shutout percentage and eighth in winning percentage.

Last week, team goal scoring leaders Elena Medeiros and Nadia Gomes each put two in the back of the net in separate games to lead BYU to victories over Pepperdine and LMU. Against Pepperdine, BYU scored three goals in a game for the first time this season. Gomes was named WCC Player of the Week for scoring twice in 14 seconds against Loyola Marymount.

Saint Mary’s comes off a weekend where they tied Santa Clara 0-0 on Friday and lost to San Francisco 2-1 on Sunday. The Gaels have also defeated Pepperdine and San Diego in conference play.

After Saturday’s game, the NCAA selection show on Monday, Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. MT will reveal who and where the Cougars will play in the NCAA tournament starting Nov. 13 and 14. The show will be streamed live on NCAA.com.
