No. 6 Cougars head north to face Aggies

PROVO, Utah – The No. 6 BYU women's soccer team takes on a familiar opponent Saturday, as it plays at Utah State at 4 p.m. MDT.

BYU Storylines

The Cougars (6-1) are ranked No. 6 in three major college soccer polls, their highest ranking since October of last year. After scoring just two goals in their first two games combined, they now rank 16th in the nation with 2.77 goals per game. BYU has shut out three straight opponents (Utah, SMU, Ohio State).

Ashley Hatch leads the nation with nine goals. Fellow forward Nadia Gomes is tied for second with six assists. Michele Vasconcelos, the reigning West Coast Conference Player of the Week, has five goals in her last four games.

The Cougars have won five games in a row, equaling their longest winning streak of 2015.

Utah State Storylines

The Aggies (4-3) have won back-to-back games against Gonzaga (2-1, OT) and Sam Houston State (8-0). Their most recent result represents the most goals they've scored against an opponent since their 10 goals against Louisiana Tech in 2007.

Freshman Alecia Robinson scored a hat trick against the Bearkats for her first three goals of the season. Junior Wesley Hamblin also has three goals for Utah State. The Aggies lost 3-0 to Utah, who BYU beat 2-0.
